Children & Youth Ministry
Volunteer Clearances

Thank you for registering for our Children’s and Youth Ministry clearances.

 

Parental involvement is essential to keeping this ministry available each week. We pledge to conduct the ministry of the gospel in ways that assure the safety and spiritual growth of all children and youth.  As required by the State of Pennsylvania and the UMC, all volunteers must complete background checks and fingerprinting for the safety of our children, at no cost to you. 

Receipts can be forwarded to maryanne@crossingumc.org.

The criminal background check must be completed before serving, and fingerprinting should be completed in the near future.

There are 3 clearances we need to obtain:

  1. Your PA State Police Criminal Background Check

  2. Your PA Childline Child Abuse Clearance Check

  3. FBI background check (fingerprints)

The steps are listed below, along with the PA State links. The original printouts of each must be provided to The Crossing and emailed to maryanne@crossingumc.org.

Fingerprinting Process

  • You must complete the fingerprinting process, which includes making an appointment first.
  • Follow this process
  • Enroll at IdentoGo using the link below.

Reimbursement
 

*Staff and volunteers are required to pay for their clearances. The church will reimburse you once you submit all receipts along with your complete name and address. A check for the full amount will be issued to you and either mailed or handed to you on a Sunday.
